  • we will have to move on not seeing eye to eye I guess. The Constitution was written without embracing any one religion, it 'founded' the government, provided guarantees to all people regardless of faith, on that we agree.

  • hmmm... Sorry you missed my point, my point was that religion (Christian beliefs for the first 150- 200 years or so) motivated many in this country. So ingrained in the lives religious references became commonly speak.

  • Every American should know this nations history. Christian belief was a corner stone of early America, separation of church and state was focused on how a government forces one religion on its people as evident in the the English monarchy and the Church of England.

  • What ever happened to free speech or freedom of religion (to have or not to have one)? I understand this girl takes offense to it and bravely stood up for her rights and on that we all should congratulate her.

  • Come on people... We did the right thing here saving those sailors from the pirates. Those people aren't just Iranians, they are fathers, sons and husbands too. Their government is screwed up but look at ours! Is it any better? Doing this was the right thing!

  • My father used a switch, basically a cane and often. the difference is the Judge was angry and lost his self-control (listen to his language in talking to the girl). The judge was wrong in the way he administered it, he was out to hurt her not discipline her and that makes a world of difference.

  • Antone, with any luck i will remain healthy... point is humans never had a safety net before outside of family, maybe the church. Did it suck? Probably but that is the way it always was.
